In Standard view all my albums (Album View) are grouped as follows, artist A-Z, and then year oldest to newest. I'm struggling to get this grouping in albums, theatre view, currently its is artist A-Z, and then album name A-Z within artist. I have fiddled with the settings, but can't seem to get it, any help would be appreciated.

The first screen shot shows the setting you want. The second is an alternative approach. I use this so the year of release is shown with the album name, as shown in the third shot.

Thanks Rick, the screenshots were helpful.

Good question. Great answer and demo! You guy's are awesome.

rick, any idea why this doesn't work for search lists?
The "Sort" option is disabled in the search list setup, as expected really...
Each search list entry has its own sort parameters specified within, but when viewed in theater view, all of the lists are sorted by album artist auto.
Is this a bug, by design, or user error?

I don't see the same thing. Is there a "modification" setting in the Rules for file display for the view itself? I haven't experimented, but I imagine that would override any similar setting on a category item. :-\

I've included a sorting rule in the "Rules for file display" and then, in Theater View, the "All" entry correctly uses this sort order.
The individual search list items each have their own sorting instructions, and in standard view, these sorting instructions are applied per search list item selected. However, in theater view, they are ignored. I've added this to my bug list.
