Hi there!
I am using a Media Center 15.0.171 but I have a strange problem. My Media Center is automatically disable my 'start navigation' sound in my Windows 7 64bit. When I close the player this system sounds is back??? Sometimes I must uninstall the Media Center to have everything properly.
I am looking for advice.

Are you using WASAPI? Exclusive mode means that nothing else can use it.
-
I am not sure what is WASAPI... Please can you tell me how to disable it to see if that works
-
It's a playback option, like DirectSound or Wave Out. Our wiki has information under "Audio Output Modes".
-
I saw under audio output are different options and by default is the Direct sound mode

I was searching this night and I found a user with the same issue:

If you're using DirectSound, I suggest you look to your Windows Volume Mixer (in the task tray) for answers. Maybe the system sounds are turned down or muted.

natureimpulse, are you speaking about all system sounds or only about the "start navigation" sound?
I have not tested this, but MC may actually disable the "start navigation" sound by design. MC uses the Internet Explorer code for displaying html content in various places inside the user interface and it would not be nice if it would play additional sound effects during playback.

yes the only sound is the "start navigation" sound
Alex, thank you for your answer

I want to report after a few days of use I see today my MC is keep holding the 'start navigation' disable including in the way when I close the MC player.
In that way first I close the MC player and I am going in the system sound scheme. I put first 'No sounds' scheme and I click apply and then I choose the scheme which was before and I see the 'sound navigation' is back.
