SageTV, like other PVR software for the PC, sets the Read-Only bit for files that you want "kept forever" rather than auto-managed. This leads to frequent problems when I try to manage these files with MC. Everything works fine until I try to rename/move the files with the Rename, Move, and Copy tool. Then, because I'll often have a random smattering of Read-Only files in my "recording folder", the "tagging" of these files fails. Even worse, MC thinks it has actually moved the file, and updates the [Filename] tag, and then loses the files themselves.
Wouldn't it make sense to have the tool just quickly check for Read-Only status of the files before it updates the [Filename] tag, and then either throw up an error or silently ignore the files it can't move? Something other than breaking the link to the file in MC's database, anyway.
