Is there an option that will force MC to sync file formats to my device even though MC thinks its not supported by the device?

something like options and sync all formats?

Right-click on your device.
Choose Options, and in there expand Files, Paths & More.
Finally, edit the supported file types box to a * (All file types). You should also be able to use a semi-colon deliminated list of file extensions IIRC.
