It looks like I said the magic words, as the MC16 Beta board has appeared!
I'd like to make a formal request for last.fm scrobbling for Gizmo in MC16. I think this is a natural fit, considering the other last.fm integration that's being added in this version. And I'd like to add 'pretty please'.
I mess with Gizmo occasionally, but I'll admit that I've underused it to this point due to the lack of track scrobbling.
Server side scrobbling had been mentioned as a possibility in an earlier thread. There is also the ScrobbleDroid API (http://"http://code.google.com/p/scrobbledroid/wiki/DeveloperAPI").
Thanks.

We'll add this to v16. If it doesn't happen in the next few weeks, please feel free to remind us.
Thanks.

This will be available in 16.0.23 and later.
You'll also need an updated Gizmo. If the new Gizmo doesn't get to the market when 16.0.23 is released, we'll post a build of Gizmo here.

I saw the Gizmo update that mentioned 16.0.23 and scrobbling this morning. I was elated :D
But then I saw that 16.0.23 hadn't been released yet. I was depressed :(
Now I'm just feeling a little hungry :P

Scrobbling works well. A little too well in fact, as I'm getting duplicate scrobbles on all songs played in Gizmo.
I'm running 16.0.32. Any suggestions?

For a while, I was getting between four and six scrobbles per track, but all that got fixed prior to build 32, and having just checked, I'm finding it still working nicely for me.
When you get the duplicate scrobbles (just two per track, right?) is there any pattern to the second one firing?
For me, for example, I was seeing an initial scrobble as soon as the track started, followed by at least another three in rapid succession exactly one minute later. Also, are you connected via WiFi or 3G? Most of my issues were present when using 3G.

Marko, I get two or three scrobbles per song. Never just a single one. Like you described , I get the first one immediately, then a second or third a minute or so later.
I'm using 3G exclusively.
