Title: Manually/Programatically start/stop Library server?
Post by: avpman on February 06, 2011, 09:53:10 am
What is/are the command(s) to manually start the background library server? In the old days (V12 maybe) there was a separate program you could run without having to run MC that would enable the Library background server. I don't want the Library Server to run when Windows starts. I want to schedule it to run when I say so. And also, what are the commands to stop the service.

EDIT: OK, I found the command to START it in the Dev Wiki  "mc15.exe /MediaServer". But I still need the command to STOP the MediaServer.

You could just kill it with a batch script.

Thought of that already. Tried [net stop "Media Center 15 Service"]. Which stops the service but leaves the Server Icon still active in the tray. Not sure if it's still active or not though.
