Title: Can't rip on computer with no audio and low grade video?
Post by: soongsc on February 18, 2011, 10:14:12 am
I've been trying to rip DVDs on a pc with low grade on board video and no sound card.  Since I've been getting error messages, is this not an option with MC?  I use it to rip CDs with dbpoweramp.

Pretty sure you need some sort of audio device.
How about plugging in a cheezy usb audio device? I got one for a couple of $ from one of those hong kong vendors.

Thanks, I have a USB card hanging around, I guess I should use it.  I just can't understand why it's necessary.  I've done CD ripping with a different software, and it does not require an audio card, why do DVD rips need it?

DVD rips don't require a soundcard.  But if you're going to use MC to do those rips then you'll need a sound card.

So it's just the way MC does rips that require this?
