Hi Jeff,

I can't help with your problem but what do you think of the Cowon?
If I can't fix the disc in my ipod I might look at one of those.

I do not own a Cowan (drooled from a distance) but how do you know the playlists are not transferring?

Are the songs on the device but the playlist not showing in the Cowan menu?

Since this looks like your first post don't be offended by my asking if you selected the check boxes for playlists in the options under the Drives and Device that you wanted to transfer.

Under the options for the device you may have to play around with the settings for M3U under the menu Files, Paths, & Move. I have owned many devices over the years and each can be different in the type of M3U it will recognize be it relative path or full path with or with out drive letters. The path you tell it to store the M3Us is also very critical. Some devices like the Playlists in the root and others as a subfolder off the music path. The playlist location is also set in the same menu tree.

The location of the playlist will completely determine if it will play at all when using a relative path M3U. Below is an old thread that Matt help explain this to me.

Anyway that is a start for you.
