Title: MC 16 no audio when using DLNA to Direct TV receiver
Post by: icehouse10 on February 25, 2011, 12:47:41 pm
I just upgraded to HD access with Direct TV.  We have 2 HR24 receivers.  I downloaded MC 16 to see if I could use the DLNA function to stream my movies on my pc to the receiver.  It shows the video fine but there is no audio.  I have a playstation 3 and MC 16 worked perfectly on that for streaming movies.   I tried using TVersity and it works just fine back to the bedroom HR24 receiver.

Do you have any advice on how I can get the audio to work?  Thanks.

Greetings:
I have 3 Directv DVRs, I am unable to get MC16 to even display the videos, not to mention audio.
How did you configur each of your receiver ? i.e dlna, and  how do you get it to display the video? I had lots of movies stored i neach dvr.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I only have 10 days left in my trial registration and I am having the same problem. From reading other posts on the internet it looks like the audio section of the DNLA configuration in MC needs to be set to MP2, which is not available on the drop down list. Our DTV receivers won't support anything other than MP2 in video.

Are you saying that it needs to be an mpeg2 video with mp2 audio??

Try the "mpeg2 medium" conversion preset.

The MPEG2 medium bandwidth doesn't work.

Even changed the audio to uncompressed wave and the DirecTV DVR does not play the audio.  And it know it can't play the audio because it asks if I want to watch the movie without the audio content.

Ripped DVD's play fine on the PC in MC 16, but will not get through to DVR.

I think you may be messing with the wrong preset (Audio). There is no "uncompressed wave" setting for Video conversion. Check the Video Conversion setting, it selects both audio and video conversion for video (movies).
