Title: File Copy - OK From Client Local Library BUT NOT from Server
Post by: raf on March 04, 2011, 03:06:00 pm
I'm running 16.0.39 under Win 7 on both computers.

What works as expected :
On the Client - when in it's local library - I can copy / paste or + drag a media file from MC browser window to another location on the HDD or on a USB device.

What's not working: On the Client - when connected to server library - can play media etc but when I try to copy or drag as above, it does not copy the item.  Neither to a local folder or an external drive.  MC does show the file being dragged and the normal + sign to indicate it will copy when dropped.  Once file is dropped it does nothing - not even any dialogue to indicate whether this is a valid action or not.

Yes.  This is a limitation of the current implementation of the Library Server.  None of the Send To -> External and similar options work either.  It's a bummer.

Thanks -
Do you mean it's a limitation only in the beta? Will it be resolved in the MC16 release?

raf, you have to set up a local handheld..then you can drop the file to it and sync..and your files will be copied
