I'm going to post this evening when I have time.  But, just one quick observation - the cnet review link under the description of the new build is to version 7.2.28.  We should probably mention that we're posting about v. 8.  Unfortunately, after reading the negative reviews posted there, I'll have less confidence in the future when making a purchase decision on the basis of product reviews.  If I didn't know what I know now about MJ and JRiver I might have believed some of those totally inaccurate, offensive, negative reviews.

Done, but I can't see it yet.
Maybe they have to review it before ?

I wasn't suggesting not to post, just to mention the version that you are writing about.

The count thus far Positive 14  negative 1

Listen to this crack addict's negative review (nina)
"poor fidelity-clicks-freezes"
This program has problems. From their own forum postings: Wolfmeister>After installing MJB under a user account (Windows 2000), MJB 8 starts but its window frame is black and its menu bar is unreadable JamieF>I had the exact same problem with Win2kPro Valisystem>I just had the same thing happen last night on Windows XP Professional I would NOT touch this program with a ten foot pole. Why risk your system to this amateurish effort. Beware, that some posts here are by employees/staffers of company. They love the program!! The company regularly deletes ideas they do not like from their forum, which is reason enough not to fund their censorship efforts. "

Amatuer efforts?  Posts from employees?
I am a mere user and to call this program amateur is as logical as trusting nina

Nina,
If you read this, please post your problem.  Someone may be able to help.

To ease your mind, nobody at JRiver is posting these.  I have asked our people not to vote.  We want to win this race without cheating.

All those ninas out there posting ill-informed, malicious, puerile reviews such as this one are probably doing more damage to MJ than can be made up by implementing new marketing techniques. I, for one, have tended to take these kind of negative reviews fairly seriously when attempting to evaluate the worth of trying out software from download.com.

With all those ninas in mind, I will definitely have to change my approach. Having seen the J River folk doing their best to address (and, in most cases, solving them) issues raised in this forum, I can only conclude that some "reviewers" can only be out to diss products for hidden agenda (possibly commercial) purposes.

Jim,

You should be the new poster child for 'Minnesota Nice'. Even after a rabid review by this person you still extend your hand. Next Page

That's the way he is. It's great to know that there are really good people with a lot of integrity STILL left in the world. That's one of the reasons I hang out here.

I'm kind of partial to that song.

That looks wierd. That's what they say around here when you like something especially well. But what does it mean? I thought "partial" was a portion of something and that doesn't make any sense. I was born here, I grew up here and I'll probably die here but the Southern language is strange.

I'm partially confused as to what you're trying to say. Next Page

Just checked again, and another 'one of those' people posted a negative comment. I find it funny that Winamp is compared to MJ when they are not really the same type of program.

And then there is the mentality that,'if ain't free, it ain't for me'. Never could figure out why so many think somebody owes them something for nothing. To be honest, I've probably spilled twenty-five bucks of beer (in one night) at the bar during my adventurous days. Next Page Now I use a 'sippy cup'. So the idea of shelling out the money is not a problem, at least for me.

My thoughts on these reviews is certainly changing. From now on, these comments will be taken with a grain of salt.
