Title: Theatre View and Access Control
Post by: bil1010105 on April 11, 2011, 03:34:44 pm
Hi there,

Is it possible to change the Access Control flag in Theatre View using a remote? I've searched around the UI, the wiki and this forum, but come up blank.

Thanks,

Bil

MCC 22016 (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Media_Center_Core_Commands#View) will launch the Access Control dialog. So you can do at least that much by adding the "external program" command MC16.exe /mcc 22016 to the menu or assign it to a remote key. If your remote software allows a series of keystrokes to be used, you can program it also enter your password and toggle the setting.

Thanks - that's a start. :)

Doesn't get me much further though, because my "remote software" is MC itself... and that doesn't work with standard view dialogs.  :-\

Also not particularly wife friendly - we use (or plan to use) access control to hide inappropriate films & music from our 5 year old. I'm fairly sure this will shock her. I'll have another play and see if I can figure out an easy way to make it work.  :)

Run it from an AutoHotkey (http://www.autohotkey.com/) script that enters the command followed by the necessary keystrokes. There's nothing better than something geeky and wife-friendly at the same time. 8)
