Title: delay when playing first song
Post by: tangoboy on April 18, 2011, 09:28:18 pm
MC 16.0.49. When I reboot my laptop and run MC, then play an mp3 (or add to playing now) there is a delay
of about 10 - 15 sec before the song starts playing. After the the first song plays the delay goes
away. if I unload MC and reload it again there is no delay, but if I reboot my laptop and run MC
again, the delay comes back.

I have noticed this too.  MC appears locked up until the song plays.  I thought this might be a Library Server client issue but now that you mention it it does seems to happen with the first song I try to play after I wake my PC from sleep.

Sounds like a drive spinning up to me.

This is not the case for me.  I have my server set to never turn off the drives.

Maybe - I don't know - This never happened with MC 15

Could you share a log (Help > Logging) showing the delay?  I'm matt at jriver dot com.

Thanks.

Hi Matt -

The problem seems to have gone away. No matter what I do, there is no delay when playing
the first song. Maybe my anti virus progam (McAfee) was doing something to cause the delay
I don't know - I hope I haven't wasted too much of your time on this
