I'm playing back on my laptop. It's a new Acer with a i3 CPU and 4GB of RAM. Has a Geforce GT 420M 1GB dedicated video card. It plays the latest 3D games with no problems, so I assume the system is more than capable of playing HD content.
What I did was rip a Blu-ray to my hard drive and tried playing that in MC. It plays, but the frame rate is horrible. Like 2fps or something. My .avi files play fine, although they are just standard def TV episodes. I have two HD movies right now, Transformers and Serenity. Serenity being the one I just ripped from Blu-ray. Both are AVCHD files and they both play, just very slowly.
Any ideas?
