Title: Is it possible to sync an iPod on a local client to an MC shared library?
Post by: Vocalpoint on April 29, 2011, 12:01:20 pm
Further to another thread where I'm in the process of installing MC on my Windows Home Server as a "library" server - I also need the ability to use this same lossless collection as the main sync source to my iPod.

Q: Is it possible to actually connect my iPod to my local PC and have it sync to a shared library in MC?

My understanding is that since ALL the files in my library are FLAC - MC will have to transcode each file to MP3 before the syncing to the iPod...and where would be the best spot to stash these extra copies? And since the FLAC source resides on the network - will syncing up take forever? So many questions.....

Appreciate any insight on this one.

Cheers,

VP
