it happens when analyzing.
I DID turn off auto import...
but i still need to analyze 3000 files
i did these steps- but am resistant to uninsalling and reinstalling because i have 85,000 music files....and it takes so long to import/build thumbnails,etc....
.
and diabled Norton 360... for 15 minutes. but dont want to keep it this way.
i have
763 ape files
21 fla files
1400 flac files
5137 m4a files
74545 mp3 files
28 ogg files
107 wma files
1 wav file.
NO m4ps
any suggestions other than reinstalling?
thanks jen
your wiki steps....
1. Please update your player to the latest build available. If a newer version has been released, please try it. For example, if you're using MC14, but MC15 has been released, please try it. The latest known stable build is always on the download page, but a newer version may be found on the forum.
2. Disable plug-ins and other third party software that you use with MC. We have had problems with bugs in plug-ins causing problems in the past. The Audioscrobbler plug-in, for example, would crash MC if you weren't logged into last.fm.
3. Problems with Virus Checkers, Pop-up Blockers, and SPAM programs are not uncommon. Please disable these to test.
-
What version of MC are you using?
-
mc16
-
The full version will be MC16.0.something. 16.0.75 is at the top of the MC16 board.
-
16.0.75

for the record.. earlier today i uninstalled nero. and it crashed while analyizing after the reboot.... so i read more and then disabled norton, updated mc... to the latest version, unchecked auto import...and since then ive had no problems. it is currently analyzing. on 1000 out of 2500. i will stop the analyze now and turn on norton to see if it crashes. and ill follow up with a post.
-
AND...... it crashed. i would assume it is norton 360. do you think the same? no other applications were running.
and.... i LOST all of the replay gain on all 86,000 files!!!!

If you're getting a blue screen, that is probably bad hardware or drivers.

Thanks for your help with our issue. It is resolved. We pulled a failing memory card out. and it seems to be working correctly. The crash happened only when running the analyze and import. i appreciate the time and advice.j
