just installed 16 to try it out, and ports are the same, it took all my settings from 15... i disabled 15 on startup reboot computer, and i cannot get test access to server to work?
ports have not changed, and in firewall i have two media center's that are checked for private and public.
TY
-
also.... i'm using the trial version of 16 to check it out... does library server work in trial?
I've also disabled firewall in win 7 for private and public
-
Just checked, no go.
-
Is the MC15 server also running. If so, shut it down.
-
nope i shut media center 15 and server off in jriver then rebooted machine then upon start up checked task manager, Jservice wasn't running, started up 16. media center\server started up. but she wont let me access the key.. just says library server cannot be registered
-
Works for me with Library server 16.0.81 (client 16.0.75).
Had initially some problems to get library downloaded to the client (needed couple of retrys), server was on 16.0.75 at that time.
So my library was already downloaded to the client before upgrading server to 16.0.81 and I don't think I want to mess with it just now.
I'm not using Access Key service.
-
My library server running 16.75 is mysteriously not working, either. Can't find a good reason for it.
-
16.81 on host and client, Library server not working, nothing else changed...
They all show..just wont connect..
-
what i did for atest also was remove the key\RESET key.. upon doing that now it just stays at click for access.
also i should mention i never installed this on clients, i only tried accessing it from my droid, which accesses 15 fine. with same port number. but again 15 is now disabled, and running 16 with same port as 15.
-
ran more tests, no clue whats going on
disabled 16 now. re-enabled 15, rebooted server machine.
grabbed droid phone says it cannot connect
opened 15 settings went to access key to test, says it cannot be registered, even though it was already registered?!
went onto tablet, wifi network, chose file, library, chose server, and it redownloaded the library, chose a file and that played.
so now droid cannot connect but clients can with 15.
16 nothing connects. won't allow to get access key.
what i dont understand is if 15 has been working flawlessly, how can it just stops working on droid phone?
the keys are still the same on server 15 and droid.
is jriver server like a cloud thing? i noticed in another post you guys were having problems with your server today, why would that effect us users who are on home networks? once jriver server key is set and droid key is set? i dont understand how\why i would loose connection/ my home access key?
and if this is cloud based. then that means you guys would have full access to our libraries... someone please elaborate
-
No luck here either. Rebooted everything, rechecked port forwarding, even tried a library server reset. No go.
Won't even work inside my LAN.
-
also, if I goto services and plugins in 15, chose server info i get a screen that says this feature requires an internet connection?
i think 16 screwed up my 15. all these features were working before 16 install today.
Won't even work inside my LAN.

Working fine here. Client is even running inside Parallels VM on Win 7.

If I go to webplay.jriver.com/(myaccesskey) I get the following:
Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Apache/2.2.16 (Debian) Server at webplay.jriver.com Port 80

I'm assuming downtime was supposed to be a minute or two. This qualifies as a problem.
I'm using webplay through the direct port access right now. It would be nice if Gizmo had a cache so that it could try to connect if the translation server craps out

Working again. Thanks
-
Sorry for the trouble. A server didn't come back properly after a reboot. We're working on the post-mortem, and better detection for if it happens again.
Again, sorry for the trouble.
-
Mine seems to be functioning now.... ;D
-
Fixed! Always refreshing to know it's not on my end.
-
IS IT DOWN STILL OR NOT?
SAME PROBLEMS!
-

Wig, kensn, bryan ty for tests!

Library Server is working fine here. I use it heavily.
-
glynor, how do you connect the library server, using an access key or using an IP address ?
For my part, since version 16.0.81 it appears that I cannot connect Library Server via my home network using usual access key. In fact, the first time I've installed 16.0.81 on my different computers connection to the library server was ok with access key but, after rebooting the computer where library server is located this became impossible.
It seems I've found the parade introducing IP address of the computer with Library server instead of the access key. I will take a look today after work to confirm that connexion is OK by this way.

Use the server's IP address and be done with it. This eliminates the middleman. If you use DHCP, configure your router to assign a static DHCP assignment for the server so that it's IP never changes.

Yes I'm agree with you but connexion using access key generated by Media Center in Network option on the computer where Library server is located worked fine for me till version 16.0.81.
Now I must use IP address if I want to be sure to connect the library server all the time.

Sorry about the problem with the code server yesterday, that was my fault (trouble bringing a server back online).
The codes should have been working since yesterday at about 17:00 CDT.
For those that still seem to be having trouble, I just tested it here to my home server with 16.0.81 and it worked instantly.
When I put in the code for my home server into Library Manager->Add library it pulled my home IP/Port and connected right away.
If you are still having trouble, do you see the attempt to connect to your server in the status window?

I recently downloaded 16.81 and I cannot get library server to work either. It works just fine for me on 15.174. The interface is a bit different so I may be missing something. I did read through the various theads on this topic and tried everything to no avail. I am wondering if this is a bug being fixed, or should I start a thread seeking assistance regarding my specific situation? Until then I will be running 15.
Thanks!

I would probably start a new thread. The recent problems were due to a server not coming up after a planned shut down. Mine and others started working again after the server was up. I believe we had ver.16 already installed and working before the mishap.
