Title: Closing a Linkedin Account
Post by: JimH on May 09, 2011, 10:36:10 am
I closed my Linkedin account today.  I never found it very useful and they've begun to be more aggressive in mailing me.

Here's how:

You may have to log in first.

I quit Facebook last week.  The general buzz about social networking was beginning to be annoying.

So I'm free at last.

I think I'm going to close my LinkedIn account too... I never use the thing, and they spam me with all sorts of "add me" requests and stuff.  I'm sure I could turn it off, but... meh.  No real use for it.

Facebook can be useful, such as it is.  (Flipboard makes Twitter and Facebook MUCH more useful, by the way.)  I do think its popularity amongst the "young crowd" is already starting to wane (that happens when their parents show up), which is never a good sign.  But it is good for organizing Happy Hour outings after work and things like that, and for staying in touch with long-lost friends, it does the job.
