Title: Audiobook
Post by: ginty32 on May 10, 2011, 10:15:24 pm
I've searched some posts to figure out why I can't get Audiobooks to show up in the audiobook listing.  I can only get it in the Music/Genre list.  I've tried changing the Genre to Audiobook, audiobooks, Audio Book and Audio Books.  Is there a way to fix this?  I want to be able to restart a book where I left off.

Try setting the media subtype tag to Audiobook in the dropdown list...

and I am not familiar with MC12, but if you select a file, look in the action window, select tag, right click and select all tags... maybe it will show...

Or right click file and select Tag, and in the window that opens, right click and select show all tags...

None of this may be revelvent to your version though....

That is my best shot... Again I am new user to MC

I've downloaded MC16. Ken, could you tell me exactly where to find the dropdown list for the Media Subtype tag?

In the Standard view, if you have a view open that shows the file, click (highlight) the file, bottom left corner is Action Window, there should be a list of items there, one of them is TAG, click Tag, in the window that opens up, right click > Show all tags. The Tag you are looking for should be in the list.. That is the best I can do by memory, I am currently at work...

Found it, thanks Ken.  I'll give that a try and see what happens.

That did it.  Thanks for your help.  I deleted my rant too.  I should've know MC would have it figured out; this is a great program.

Thanks Ken and thanks MC.

Now I have another question.  I am able to put audiobooks where they will be bookmarked, but it only bookmarks the track I'm on.  When I put a book on that has 300 tracks each I would have to remember what I was on for the Ipod to pick up where I left off.  Is there a way to fix that or do I need to combine all the tracks?

Well I have not done this, but there is a last played tag you could use in the a view, configure the view to filter the last played file and show it, then you could select that file and have it resume...

I meant in the ipod.  It will bookmark where in the track I stopped, but if an audiobook has 200 or more tracks, it's impossible for me to remember what track I was on.

No problem.  I downloaded mp3Merge and will try and make my Audiobooks 1 long track.  I'm also going to try and find all I can about the ID3 tags.  Thanks for the help.
