Title: Stupid question - 30 second skip?
Post by: SamuriHL on May 11, 2011, 02:04:29 pm
Ok, I searched but didn't find the answer so I'm just gonna ask outright and this has been asked and answered before I apologize.  I use WMC remotes on my HTPC's and am curious if it's possible when playing certain file types to set the chapter skip button to a 30 second skip function.  This would ROCK if possible so I can skip commercials on my tivo and wtv files.  Again, sorry if this has been covered.

On the five key pad (Left, Right, Up, Down, and OK), Right should skip forward 30 seconds.  Left skips back 10 seconds.

To add to what Jim said:

OK pauses.

Up and down rolls through the on screen menu.

You should be able to do everything you need on the couch with the directional pad + OK + green button on your remote.

Finally, if you like, you can configure the jump increments in Options > Video to something other than 30 / 10.

Beautiful!  I'm really settling in well with MC16.  :)  This adds infinitely more power for me.  I record a *LOT* of video and we hate commercials.  I just got a new TIVO and am now able to pull shows off that, as well, so I can watch them in the bedroom.  To my knowledge 7MC doesn't handle TIVO files, and I don't always want to edit commercials and convert it using VRD, so, this absolutely ROCKS!  Truly a unified MC program for me.  You have no idea how happy I am right now.  :)
