Title: Can't get *.SRTsubtitle files to work

Can't get *.SRT subtitle files to show. Think I'm doing the right things with 'Video playback settings' and in any case I've tried all plausible permutations of the settings. Nothing wrong with the *.SRT file: it displays in Media Player Classic.

Help appreciated.
