Recently upgraded from Jukebox 14 to MC16. Password protected podcasts worked fine in MC14, but when I enter the same podcast URL in MC16 it never asks for the password, and therefore cannot find the podcast. I've restarted the program, no luck.
Assuming this ultimately works, another issue. Jukebox 14 would remember the passwords but would still present the password window every time the program was launched, forcing me to click OK for every password protected podcast I have (very annoying). It would be nice to just remember them and not ask again.
Thanks,
Kyle

This is intentional, because it's not too neat for a background tool like Podcasting to throw up user interface.
You might instead try just putting the username and password in the Podcast feed URL.
For example:
http://user:password@www.thepodcastilike.com/rss.xml

That is how I handle subscribing to password-protected podcasts within MC16.

Not working. My username is my email address, so the syntax contains two @'s which may be screwing things up. I tried quotes around the username and around both username:password. No luck. Suggestions?
BTW - the plain URL without my username/password does work in Jukebox 14 - it just prompts for the credentials.

Try emailname%40emaildomain%2Ecom in the podcast URL. Works for me with protected podcasts that use my email address.

Still not working,
just to verify
replace the @ with %40
replace the . with %2E
This is frustrating because these password protected podcasts worked just fine in MC 13 and Media Jukebox 14 (via authentication pop-up window). Now I upgraded to MC16 and they no longer work.
With this new syntax they do seem to be taking longer to come back with an error message, so perhaps something is going on with the authentication process. Is there a way to check what messages are coming back from the podcast server?
Also, is there any way to see what text MC13 was sending such that these podcasts worked?

Would you be willing to email me the credentials and URL for the Podcast Feed, so that I could test here?
I'm matt at jriver dot com.
I'll delete the credentials as soon as I'm done testing.
Thanks.
