Title: Database will be opened in read-only mode
Post by: elmo on May 24, 2011, 12:14:26 am
Every time I launch media cernter I get the message "This database will be opened in read-only mode. Any changes will be lost when the program exits." I see this was a bug in the earlier releases. It appers to have not been fixed.

You will get that message if a second pc is accessing the same library that another pc has open.

That might be one cause of this message, but I've never installed this product before and nothing else is accessing my database.

Hi !

Options > General > Advanced > Allow multiples instances to run at one time : if this choice is clicked, Database will be opened in read-only mode when MC16 is opened with double-click (in fact this double-click opens two MC16 !)

Perhaps another user on the same machine is using MC.

when you close MC, have you checked that lock.jmd (in the db folder) is cleared ?
