Title: HTTP Stream how to set jriver as default player
Post by: SeldomSeen on May 24, 2011, 02:30:30 pm
Trying to play archives from my favorite radio station, WFMU.  From their recent archives page:

http://www.wfmu.org/recentarchives.php (http://www.wfmu.org/recentarchives.php)

I click on the mp3 link to one of the shows I want to listen to and it launches WMP which runs terribly on my system with these files and is the reason I switched to jriver in the first place.  I can right click the mp3 link and paste it in the the "open url" under file in jriver and it plays perfectly.

I have set everything in the file type associations to YES that I can think of, all audio types and all data types are set to yes.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Seldom

I had no trouble w/IE and Firefox.

Let's see if this will help.

Right click and save the link for the mp3 file.  It will save as an m3u file.

In Windows Explorer, right click the listen.m3u and select Open With... and select Media Center, and also check the Always use the selected program...

Next time, MC should be used when you open the links.

Bingo!  Not sure how I missed this, should have known it was a Windows thing more than a MC thing.

Thanks a lot for the quick response.
