Title: Yamaha or Denon work with JRiver via DLNA?
Post by: sskings on June 05, 2011, 09:07:26 am
Hi,

Just discovered JRiver recently after using MM for quite a while.  So far I like it very much.  I have two questions:

1)  I'm very interested in using JRiver as a DLNA controller with a moderate-high end Yamaha or Denon network capable receiver.  Anyone have experience with this...for example Yamaha RX-V867 or Denon 1912 or similar.

2)  Any general advice on setting up the network?  I have about 500 albums in FLAC.  Current thought is to put the library on a NAS networked to the receiver and a laptop.  Use JRiver running on the laptop to wirelessly send music to the receiver.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Steve

I've neen using a Denon 4806Ci with MC for a number of years without too many issues. Those issues I had were fixed / worked around by J River even when it was proved Denon had not implemented the standard correctly.  Denon support is just about zero.
As mine is an older Receiver I cannot use FLAC and hence send WAV to maintain lossless
