Title: Is there any way to determine if a DVD is displaying a menu? [RESOLVED]
Post by: avid on June 06, 2011, 03:36:16 am
Is there way for external software (using MCWS or otherwise) to tell if the currently playing DVD has displayed a menu?

I currently use Zoom Player, and my iPhone remote control automatically switches screens when the DVD mode changes (e.g.) from
(http://www.brianavid.co.uk/Avid2/ScreenShots/Video.PlayDVD.PNG)
to
(http://www.brianavid.co.uk/Avid2/ScreenShots/Video.Menu.PNG).

I would like to be able to do the same when I move to using MC as I hope to. So ... is this state information available?

Resolved:

I found that if the MCWS info XML has DurationMS == 0 when displaying a menu - and (obviously) not when actually playing something. This is enough to allow me to switch views dynamically and responsive to the DVD state.

There's always a way ... or so it appears ...
