Title: Wiki and old data...
Post by: MrC on June 09, 2011, 09:48:21 pm
So I decided to edit a wiki entry to add some info, but find that much of the data refers to older versions of MC, and is not as accurate as it should be.

What's the protocol here for making updates? Write to the latest version (eg. MC16), or just accept that the wiki is relegated to ancient history?

Update it if you're willing!  And certainly target the current version.

Wiki editing is closed right now because of spammers.  If you have a topic you want to add, do it here and I can put it on the wiki.

@glynor - OK, that's what I was thinking too, thanks.

@JimH - Wiki-spam Sucks!  Does your wiki have a way to IP whitelist?  There are a number of sections that I was going to update (on ripping, file locations, track info lookups, split-file albums, etc.).  I'm concerned about spending time formatting if it is going to get lost in translation, and the amount of time it will take describing what needs changing where.  Writing in Wiki is already painful enough.

It looks like there are several ways to restrict editing/page creation. Checking into it more...
