Title: Fails to restore license
Post by: Deerhunter on May 30, 2002, 06:22:16 pm
I can't restore my license. I paste the code in and when I try to restore it says this server does not have this code.

What code are you using?  Where did you get it and when?

Did you try the FAQ here?

What version of MJ?

Using Version 8.289 Received my code via email on May 2, 2002. Went to the link and pasted the code in as per instructions but it says it isn't on that page. Tried direct from mj and got the same results.

I also downloaded 8.0.289 and can't get license to restore .  I got email reg code about an hour ago, cut and paste, and get message saying "restoral complete, click on code to complete the install."  An MJ error message then comes up saying "Error installing MJ license: failed opening license file."

Que paso?

Can you try this again and report any problems?  You will need to visit the restore page and paste your registration code in.

Restores will be reset in about 30 days.

Thanks,

What browser are you using?

You may have said above, but did MJ 8.0.289 install OK?  Any errors?  Reboot?

MJ8 installed and works great. I use internet explorer but when I go to mj8 interact it switches to Netscape.
I have also tried to renew the license from a file that was downloaded and get the same error message.

Use IE.  You must have Netscape set as your default browser and there may be a compatibility problem.

Hooray! It worked. Sorry for all the trouble. I just switched to IE from using netscape all my computer career. Still used netscape for mail. So I switched to Outlook Express and followed King Sparta's instructions and voila my MJ is registered. Thanks for the help.

OK, thanks for the report back.  We can probably do something about the Netscape problem next week.  But thanks for finding it.
