Title: SOLVED: Subtitles+DXVA+HD Audio
Post by: Darth B on June 19, 2011, 06:29:25 am
Anyone have a way to make subtitles+DXVA+HD Audio work?  I've tried different container types (m2ts and mkv), different splitters (LAV, Haali and MPC-HC) and different decoders.  I have not found a working combination.  I'm using an ATI 5570 video card.  I've considered purchasing an NVIDIA card so I can use LAV CUVID - but I'm not sure that would work.

TMT can do it.
PowerDVD can do it.
MPC-HC can do it.

This is the one feature that is missing for MC16.  Can it be done?

SOLUTION:
The lastest LAV splitter (version 0.30) works with ffshow DVXA (version 3940 is what I used) to provide hardware acceleration and subtitles. The LAV Audio decoder will bitstream HD audio.

you can try the built in subs of ffdshow dxva, but I think you're better with nvidia, I jump to nvidia and cuda is less problematic than dxva.

I've tried ffdshow DXVA.  It crashes when using the LAV Splitter.  It works with Haali - but I lose DTS-HD.  It didn't work when using MPC-HC Splitter.
