Hello -
could someone please tell me why this URL
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r2_aaclca.pls (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r2_aaclca.pls)
which plays fine on Foobar
produces an error message from JRiver that says
"Media Center encountered errors when trying to play the last several files. Please make sure that the path in your media library points to the right location"
To pre-empt the obvious, this is not a firewall issue as Media Center has complete access.
The URL is a playlist (obviously!) that points to AAC streams. I'm sure this must be a simple newbie error on my part, so advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you try 16.0.111, available at the top of this board?
How do you have AAC set for playback? Under filetypes in MC options.

That's what I'm on.

Automatic - let MC do what it wants!
-
Same behavior here too on 16.0.111
It plays in Foobar, but MC displays that same error message despite the AAC file association being enabled and set for Automatic.

Thanks - corroboration is always useful.

I have the same results trying to play an aac stream from another station.
http://www.radioparadise.com/musiclinks/rp_128aac.m3u (http://www.radioparadise.com/musiclinks/rp_128aac.m3u)
Like the others, this stream also plays in foobar but gives the same error in MC16.0.111:
"Media Center encountered errors when trying to play the last several files. Please make sure that the path in your media library points to the right location"
I also have MC set in File Types for playback as "Automatic"
I prefer this stream to the others offered by this station and would love to be able to play it in MC thus eliminating the need for foobar in my system altogether.

ADDENDUM:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r2_aaclca.pls
http://www.radioparadise.com/musiclinks/rp_128aac.m3u
Audio Playlist (m3u,m3u8,pls,xpl,bpl,xspf)
Actually we should be chasing after the file extensions belonging to those two playlists (.pls and .m3u).
However, defaulting the Audio Playlist to MC and setting it to Automatic also doesn't help.

I don't know what the difference is quality wise, but I use the following URL for BBC Radio 2 and it works fine :-) It plays a 48k stream.
mms://wmlive.bbc.net.uk/wms/bbc_ami/radio2/radio2_bb_live_int_eq1_sl0?BBC-UID=94ac125a7ec8ffa0b927d02e81156a22f8212a6ea0a061b4e4af06dfe0743f05&SSO2-UID=
I have the URLs for other BBC Radio Stations as well if you'd like them...

Not necessary, thank you.
I need to get the URL I provided, working :'(

The URL:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r2_aaclca.pls
Uses the MIME type audio/aacp, which we didn't understand.
This will be fixed in Media Center 16.0.115 and newer.
Thanks.

Superfluous...

wonderful, thanks :)

Applause!
How about a "what shall I do with this MIME type I don't understand" option in due course?

16.0.115 (6/20/2011)
Fixed: Some AAC+ internet radio stations would not play.
Works fine now. Thank you!
