Title: drag and drop from MC and autocreate folders
Post by: papa33 on June 21, 2011, 08:11:52 am
Hello,

I'm trying to do this :

when dragging a whole album from MC to windows explorer, I would like the files to be copied in a folder with the artist name and a subfolder with the album name (automatically create these folders/subfolders from the
fields [Artist] and [Album]).

Is it possible?

Thanks in advance,
papa

Welcome to Interact.

In Media Center, select the files, then Right-click >  Library Tools > Rename, Move, & Copy Files...

You can use any rules to manage where a file resides on disk.  It must be run manually, but you can do any number of files at once.

Thanks a lot for the answer. In fact I really need this to be done by drag and drop, because my goal is to use a third party burning software to burn a mp3 CD/DVD. Files can be dragged and dropped this way into this program, but not your way.
By the way, I could do exactly what I want with the burning module of MC, but unfortunately it always crashes...

We have seen similar problems that were solved by uninstalling other more aggressive burning software.
