Title: J River ID
Post by: jitainss on June 24, 2011, 11:07:30 pm
Hi,
I am currently using MC 16 and have my music in Flac. However, my daughter has downloads from itunes, as also mp3's. I am thinking of buying a J River ID and wanted to check The following:
1. Can it wirelessly stream all 3 types of codecs?
2. Is any additional hardware required?
3. Is it very complex to set up?
4. How would the sound quality of the streaming compare with Logitech Squeezebox and Sonos?
Thanks a lot,Cheers,Jitain

It can stream MP3 or WAV, and it can convert FLAC to WAV for streaming, so those will work.

Apple formats are not certain to work.  Try playing them in MC and try converting them.  If that works, you can probably use conversion to stream to the Id.

Quality will probably be similar to other devices.

You could take a look at the instructions to read more about setup.  See the last link on this page:
