Title: Remote Help - Using WMC + MC for Audio only
Post by: Ventoux on June 26, 2011, 01:59:27 pm
I'm having trouble getting MC setup with my Harmony 900 remote.

My setup:

I'm using Windows Media Center as my front end (InfiniTV 4 for TV + Media Browser for movies + Pictures)
In my Logitch Harmony Software I have my HTPC defined by the M$ Media Center SE device, see http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Harmony-Remotes-Programming/Expanded-control-for-Windows-Media-Center-now-available-in-our/m-p/374844 (http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Harmony-Remotes-Programming/Expanded-control-for-Windows-Media-Center-now-available-in-our/m-p/374844)

I do NOT want to use MC for anything but Audio + DNLA server.

1) How do I intigrate MC (Audio Only) to work with my setup.

2) How do I turn off all TV remote functions for MC?

When I'm watching TV (in WMC) and hit the 'guide' button, MC will then fire up in the background - how to stop this?
Also if I hit the 'menu' button on my Harmony 900, MC will fire up again.

Seems like I would need to set a seperate MC device for MC vs WMC. How to do this within MC/options/remotes?
How to do this (or what device) under the Logitech Harmony software?

Thanks

It's absolutely great hearing my 5.1 DVDA rips using the WASAPI plugin. ;D
Also, getting my XBOX360 to play my FLAC audio rips (encoded on the fly - MC DNLA) is wonderful as well. ;D

I would also like to add that the STOP command for any of my WMC TV functions no longer works after installing MC on my system.
I even re-synced with the harmony software, but no change.

Any suggestions?

You may need to use a third party IR program that lets you define the buttons on your remote to specific programs.
I don't know that you can run 1 "input" as MC and another as WMC...

Bummer, I really don't want another application.
My remote works great with WMC.

I was hoping there was an easy way to integrate the 2:  WMC (TV - Pictures - MediaBrowser) + MC (Audio Only)

I was going to try a different Harmony device for MC (Microsoft Keyboard or something)

I think you could program MC's remote to change the buttons that cause problems.

Hey-
Could I just uninstall or disable all TV features of MC?

I don't want to see any TV windows, but i can't find the option to hide TV.

Thanks

I can't get this to work.
My STOP button only works in JRiver MC, but will not work in WMC.

Can someone explain in detail on how to make this work & where to disable keys?

I obviously want my STOP button working in both, but am stuck.

Thanks

It's a tough problem.  Did you consider using MC for TV?

It's a tough problem.  Did you consider using MC for TV?

Native support for Ceton's InfiniTV4 tuner card?
Also, Recorded TV archive to WHS2011?
Commercial skipping using Show Analyizer + DVRMS Tool box with the MC addin?

I have a few other plugins I use.

But, using MC I would love give Red October a go. I'm using MPC-HC + ffdshow = madVR as external player in MediaBrowser.
Also using custom intros pluggin with MediaBrowser that goes over big.

Yes, it's tough. But the simple STOP command is a deal breaker for me now.

I'm trying to do the same thing.

It would be great if there was a user that had this configured successfully.

I had the trial version set up how I liked for Audio only and loved it.
But getting my remote to work with both WMC and MC was unsuccessful.
I'm still very interested in purchasing a license if I could get this to work.
