Title: Upgrade from mc15 to mc16 -- what happens with the library?
Post by: raldo on June 28, 2011, 04:32:06 pm
Does the installation upgrade the library too?

My standard view library schemes are quite complex and they're more or less mapped 1-1 to theater view.

It's a big job if I have to redo all the views.

During the upgrade process it makes a copy of your default MC15 library and upgrades it. Your original library will be unaffected.

Having said that, I would back up your library before installing MC16. From the server, click File -> Library -> Back up Library to start the backup. You should see earlier backup versions in the default directory as well.

Nobody??

Your Theatre View configuration will be reset to the default.

Yes, I noticed that. But my standard views were imported from mc15 (as the first poster pointed out) so the process is far less painful than I thought.

Sorry, I don't use Theater View so I didn't know about the reset.
