Title: PlugPlayer - Unable to see using Ipad
Post by: barkerpusa on June 29, 2011, 10:22:31 am
Trying everything to get access to JRiver MC 16 (latest version) from my iPad.

Using PlugPlayer which doesn't see the MC DNLA at all. Allso tried webremote.

Tried using uPnP Peek and I do not see the server. Tried every Device URL format and still no luck.

Can access OK from another PC but not ipad.

All I get is 'Could not load the XML description file at the specified URL'

Any help would be much appreciated.

Plugplayer does work with MC16.

You need to turn on DLNA (not DNLA) in MC options.  See the link below and follow it to instructions.

MC's WebRemote runs on iPad.

Followed instructions to turn on DLNA - no luck.

I don't understand why I can't see the server from my ipad but its fine from another PC.

Perhaps plugplayer is an old version or isn't set correctly.

Latest verson of PlugPlayer downloaded today. Nothing to set apart from manual device addition.

Can't see DLNA server using uPnP Peek

Try WebRemote to see if it works.

Tried Web Remote before PlugPlayer - couldn't access. Works great via PC using WebRemote so MC looks to be setup correctly.

Finally figured it out. I have a router behind a router. As soon as I connected to the correct router I could see MC OK.

Thx for all the help.
