Hello, I was hoping that someone could help me. I received a message that the new version of MC was available for purchase. I went ahead and bought the product and was charged $26.98. I received an e-mail containing my license number. I downloaded it and stored it in my Documents. When I go to the file, a dialog box comes up asking me to give J River permission to make changes on my computer. I allow this, and up comes a page with a link to this forum. Behind that page is another dialog box saying that the installation was completed successfully. When I go into the "Help" section on J River, and ask for the version information, it still says I have version 15.0.174. Because of this, I've used one of my restores to have a second install link sent to me. Everything looks exactly the same with this new message, in fact, its got the same title, so I would have to either re-name it or replace the first one. I don't want to do either of these until I know what's going on. I'm pretty sure that when I first made the purchase, it went through a process of extracting, copying, and installing files. At one point the Version Info. did display a version 16, but today its back to the 15.0.174. What can I do?

Just download MC16 and install it. It's on the Download page here.

You can have both MC15 and MC16 installed simultaneously. When J River releases major new versions, it doesn't "upgrade" your existing installation, it installs "next to" your existing one.
So, you're probably just opening MC15 still using the shortcuts you already had for it. MC16 is, if you have actually seen it launch before, probably actually installed, you're just not opening it because you're using the "old" shortcuts and didn't make new ones. If you go to Start -> All Programs do you see a Media Center 16 folder? The shortcuts in there are the ones you want.
You can uninstall MC15 via the Windows Control Panel if you will no longer use it. That's what I've done in most places.
If you go to Start -> All Programs and you don't see a folder for MC16, then you haven't installed it yet. Do as Jim said and install it. The web page process you described above is the process you use to REGISTER the program, once it is already installed.

Thank you, that's exactly what was happening; both installed with the old shortcut still in place. I used the Uninstall program from JRMC15 to get rid of it, but kept all my Library files in tact. Thanks again for checking in!
