Title: AMD fusion
Post by: chew.isaac on July 01, 2011, 04:32:50 am
Hi,

I am planning to buy a netbook that uses AMD fusion just to make it a media center for my home use and J river 16 is the main program I am going to run.

My question is whether j river will run well on the AMD Fusion chip or do I need a Intel sandy bridge processor?

Thanks.

I have used AMD chips for a long time. You should have no problems.

Do you plan to use it for video?

For audio, any netbook should work.

The AMD fusion chip should be excellent for HD video playback, according to everything I've seen.

My Girlfriend has a notebook with Amd Fusion E-350 and can play 1080p videos without a problem

The new llano "fusion" chips are fully-capable quad core Phenom 2 class CPU cores, with a decent GPU component.  Way beyond "netbook" and "atom" class hardware.  It'll run on llano GREAT.

I recently upgraded my HTPC to Asus Е35m1-m pro from an old athlon 4200+ based setup. Works perfectly! No complaints. Plays everything and feels very snappy.

Great! Thanks for your reply! I am mainly using it for audio. Occasionally for video.
