There really isn't a secondary roller in the subviews of theater view anymore, is there?
I find the mc15 version more functional since you can use the secondary roller to select new subviews and return directly from that view by going arrow up and then back.
Or am I missing something?

If you go into 'Audio' in the stock views, the secondary roller has choices like 'Artists', 'Album', etc.
Is that what you're looking for?

That's what I'm looking for, yes.
I am importing my views and it seems as if Theater View does not import those views correctly.
See attached image. The selected view contains 3 levels: Artist(grouped a-z), artist, year-album.
Apparently the editbox which shows these levels is gone! The same goes for imported video views, but not for my image views.

Don't import your old settings. Set them up again in Theater View options. The format changed.

See attached image for "images" folder. This was imported too...

The edit box is missing because "Artist(grouped a-z)" is a root library item whereas Album/Year under images is a standard library item. I am not sure but I don't think that is possible to change the item type. Therefore you need to delete the view and set them up again.

The standard mode views were imported from MC15. They look just fine in MC16 standard mode.
I then imported those views to Theater View in mc16. Does this mean that, somehow, the old standard stuff is retained in mc16?
Do I need to redo the standard views in MC16 too? Confusing, this is.
-
It's not really that confusing. If you want things to work in Theater View, you do it all over again. Standard view views will probably work just fine. It's up to you if you want a working video environment in Theater View or not, and if you want to be sure no problems comes up in standard view.

For Theater View, you will need to start fresh with MC16. The format changed.

Don't use the "Add Library Item From Standard View" option as it's broken.

It worked for me the other day. I think some of that, at least, has been fixed.
I only used it to import the "bottom level" Views, and not any of the Parent Views (I configured those manually, but that's fine because they are typically much more simple).

I can confirm this seems to be working now. I repeated my original use case without encountering difficulties.
This doesn't seem to be mentioned specifically in the logs anywhere. Maybe it was a case of another fix killing two birds as it were.

It works if I add my old views into a new "Root Library Item" and not a "Category".
I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it's good enough for me!
