Title: Bought Media Center 16 - did I do it correctly?
Post by: barondla on July 06, 2011, 11:00:18 pm
I have dial up at home, but no modem in music computer. Dragged the computer to work and hooked to broadband. Downloaded 16 trial. Went to help and supplied all info including credit card. Got email asking how I liked trial, followed by second email congratulating me on purchase. Program works fine. Except when opening  today it said there was 20 days left on my tial. Since it was purchased shouldn't that have gone away? If this is wrong how do I fix it? I am not a computer genius. Thanks.

There is a license file, which you install into MC.  See:

You can leave your computer at home.  Use your Registration Code to do a Restore wherever you have an Internet connection.

That generates an Install Key which is good for 14 days.  It should be e-mailed to you.  Put it on your home PC and execute it from Explorer.

The Registration Code is good forever.  The Install Key is good for 14 days.

The Purchase link above explains the details.

Saving key to thumb drive fixed it. Now the count down timer warning is gone. 16 with wasapi event sure sounds better than 14 without it! Thanks.
