Title: Does Auto Media import not traverse sub folders?
Post by: rgadawg on July 12, 2011, 09:17:01 am
I don't seem to be able to get auto media import to traverse sub folders.
I guess I could list them one by one, but that's not very efficient, cause
I'm always adding sub folders.

btw, all is stable since the Red October HQ was fixed  :)

Auto import has no problems with sub-folders here.
Do you have specific file types that won't import e.g. WAV?

Not sure what the deal is there - but my Auto Import works fine on all folders whether sub or not. Mind you - I did learn a long while ago to make "auto import" a manual task (I have a custom tool bar button) so I can invoke Auto Import whenever I want. Leaving it in "auto" mode is just too slow. I was finding some things were imported and some not when the application was left to it's own to do an auto import in the background.

Now I do all of my track maintenance OUTSIDE of MC (via Windows Explorer etc) and then I fire up MC and manually run Auto Import against my main library folder(s). Works perfectly without a hitch.

Cheers,

VP

Hmmm.  I had to rebuild Win7. Before manual/auto recursive DIRs were included in the Library. Now they are not.  I like to make DIRs and move files in Drives and Devices and before the LIbrary always picked it up. now it doesn't :(  I'll keep playing with it.  Let me add that IF I go to a DIR in Devices, and "IMport into library" there they are, but that seems kinda tedious if one uses lots of sub folders for organizing.
