Do you have a simple way of getting rid of all the extra songs in my MC??
Thanks- lost my hard drive and transferred everthing to a new computer, lots of stuff doubled up

Are the duplicates in different locations? If so, you can search for the one you want to delete, and delete them from MC. Try one or two before you do very many.

Jim This is an example of what I have...
The problem is, I would have an extra 7,000 copies

It appears you have two different sets of paths:
C:\Users\David\Music\iTunes\iTunes\iTunes Music\
C:\Users\David\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\
So, in the Audio > Files panes view, sort by Filename. This will group all the files according to path, allowing you to select all of the files you don't want in your library db. Select those and hit Delete.
Be sure also you don't have incorrect paths in your Auto Import list.

Thanks!
That was a little tricky for me to figure out, but works.
