Post by: john h on July 17, 2011, 11:50:22 am
Hello.  Looking for new mp3 player to replace dead Ipod.  saw this, the cowon s9.  looks like it will sync okay with MC, but wanted to see if anyone's doing so.  thanks.

Whoops--in looking more, I think I like the x7 better. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone here syncs with these cowon gadgets. I did a few searches that suggest that a while ago, the cowons didnt use m3u playlists, which could be a problem.  But that was a while ago, so maybe people are having luck with them now.

Anyone?  Would love to find the non-iPod solution I've always wanted.

I have a pretty limited knowledge of MC16, but I have found that setting up a virtual device has fulfilled my needs. Case in point, I have 2 Zune players that I have a virtual device set up for that will create a nice directory of files from MC to sync the Zunes to... My point being that if hardware support is a must for your buying solution, that you may find there are alternatives that may work rather nicely...

I sync my X7 with MC no problem, I've not had any luck with playlists though.

Yes, synch goes well. Name of playlists also visible in my X7. But they don't play !!!

I hope the screen of the S9 is better. I'm also thinking of buying a handheld without disk. Will consider the Sony agian. The touchscreen of the X7 is horrible. And playlists work in the Sony  :)
