Title: Output Directory could not be created for one or more files.
Post by: mjock3 on July 27, 2011, 06:55:46 am
I am trying to rip a CD and keep getting this message. Followed by "Please double-check the output directory in the ripping options." Anyone out there able to help me fix this?

Thanks,

Mark

What is the output directory set to in Options > File Location?

Are you sure Media Center has permission to write there?

I am seeing the same problem writing to the same directory that I always used before on an external USB drive. I am using the current build.

I had a problem with this a while back and it was actually an illegal character in the artist/ track name.  When MC tried to create the directorym, it couldn't due to the illegal character.

Output directory is C:\Users\Mark\Music. I have ripped other music, so far just this one CD.

Thanks,

Mark

Probably illegal characters somewhere.

Does anyone know what MC 16 considers to be illegal characters? I'm having the same issue but I can't find any characters that look illegal.
