Although both Client & Server are set to "Do Not Convert Audio Format", and "Use local file if one is available" is UN-checked,
MC still converts from flac to 320 mp3
This is in spite of my conversion settings having been mp3 -V0 before switching to "Do Not Convert"
I have even tried restarting both copies of MC.
I have a fast LAN, but a slow machine as a server, so would expect better results streaming un-converted flac, why can't I do this?

Are you using the Media Network conversion settings? (Set under Media Network)

I haven't seen this and haven't tested with latest builds but also "Convert If Needed" have been broken a long time. It converted ogg files although they are streamable without conversion with "Do Not Convert" settings. Then again I couldn't use "Do Not Convert" as I still have plenty of musepacks (SV7) which needs to be converted.

Yes I am, sorry if I was not clear.

If you're using DLNA, select the server and configure conversion there.
If you're using MC on both sides, use Library Server instead of DLNA.
