Title: Media Centre File Access Rites

Is there any way to prevent media centre making any changes to audi and video files e.g. tagging. I set all my A/V  files to read only to prevent the tagging but is there an better way.

A couple of very annoying processes of media centre:

Automatically search the system for compatible files and tag them (unless manually stopped);
Keep downloading cover art although I have set it not to.

The software is excellent in many ways but I don't want it to modify my files in any way.

You can disable all tagging by unchecking:
Options > General > Update tags when file info changes

Cover art download is fully optional, and configured in Tools > Import > Auto-Import
