Title: Panasonic PT-AE7000U
Post by: Matt on July 30, 2011, 10:19:57 pm
Panasonic just announced their next generation projector after taking a year off:

It uses 480 Hz 1080p LCD panels.  The high refresh rate allows 3D support.

The price is $1000 higher than the PT-AE4000, which means the street price will probably be about $3000.

I was hoping for Panasonic to also offer a new model to compete directly with the Epson 8350 at the ~$1300 price point.  Maybe they'll just lower the price of the PT-AE4000.

I have an 8350 and LOVE it. I am probably going to stick with it until passive, goggle-less 3D becomes an affordable reality. If for some reason the Epson dies in a year or two after warranty, I may consider the AE7000 or whatever is current then. I'm really interested to see what Epson brings to the ceiling mount (as opposed t table) in 2011 and 2012.
