Title: MPEG plugin does not support MPEG Layer 1 files

getting this error when I try to play some files in 14.0.166.

Any suggestion on how to handle this?  Do I need to install some special codec?

It's true that layer 1 is not supported.  These files are quite rare in my experience.

You might be able to use a Directshow filter to decode the files, by selecting a different playback engine for MP1 (or whatever the extension is) in Options > File Types.
