1.045 introduces some new problems for me, in that using Windows Merit Based mode gives me an error on some DVDs 'Merit Based Playback failed' or something similar. RO STD mode plays sounds but no picture on the same DVDs.

When it plays with RO STD, could you right-click the video and copy the graph information to the clipboard and then post it here?
Thanks.

Pasted below.
Something very strange is happening Matt. When trying Merit based it comes with the error (Merit based rendering failed). If I then select either RO HQ or RO STD it plays with no picture. Close MC, restart then it will play video with RO, until I selected Merit based again. Then no picture with RO again.

If RO works (what I think your statement above is saying), can you just use it?
Thanks.

Yes now I can. However I would prefer Merit based as RO STD displays stuttering video on some AVIs (however on those same AVIs RO HQ displays smooth video). On others RO HQ gives occasional 'cracks' in the audio. On all these merit based is fine. However merit based now gives that 'rendering failed' error on some DVDs.

Paul and I are in exactly the same boat. Merit based fails in the same way, and RO stutters in the same way, as I mention in a thread here: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=66832
It really does seem like something has been going on with video rendering since .145
I was able to get around the stuttering problem in RO Standard by switching to RO HQ though.
