One of the Girder plug ins that some of us on AVS use is DVDSpy... It is a plug in to girder that watches DVD players and captures windows messages to do usefull stuff like output to a LCD or VFD display device... Things like transport commands or chapter and time etc can then be displayed making out PC's more like a STB in look and operation... Currenlty it supports a few of the HDTV cards for some messaging as well...
Well yesterday MJ was mentioned and as v8 has a SDK (and as the Girder plug in people are smarter than I
) Mike McMahon has added support for v8 almost instantly...This means that with a combination of LCD or VFD HW / MJv8 / Girder with plug ins.... You can now make a media server with external display...
