Hello,
I would like to use my keyboard in Theater View for typing a search in Youtube. For example I want to type "Alison Krauss". But when I press space key, the search is launched, so I get all the results for "Alison". So the only way to add space into the text is to use mouse and select space from on-screen keyboard. >:(
Is there any way to change the behavoor assigned to the space key in the Theater view ?
Thanks
Karel

I thought the serach was automatic and the space bar actually began play of the first item. That's what it does for me and it frustrates the hell out of me.
One way i get around it is to have the "Space" letter selected, then use the "Enter" key on the keyboard to input a space.

Imugli: yes my description was not good. Right description is that space key starts replay of the first item.
I would suggest this implementation:
- using letter keys including space -> add a letter to the search phrase
- using arow keys -> moving on pre-selected items
- using enter key -> start replay of item with focus

I agree that space should be handled specially when a keyboard is on the screen.
If it doesn't get changed in the next two weeks, please bump this thread to remind us.
Thanks.

In 16.0.157 (and later):
Fixed: The space bar and backspace key are routed to the search when using the search in Netflix, YouTube, or Hulu in Theater View.
Fixed: Pressing the space bar could cause two spaces to be output in Theater View > Gadgets > Search.

It works now in a perfect way. It's great that you have such a quick response and fix problems immediately after it is reported.
Thank you very much!
